The classes will be offered in two levels:

  • Fly Fishing 101: A beginner-friendly introduction to the essentials of fly fishing, including gear, casting techniques, knots, and much more.

  • Fly Fishing 201: For those who already have some experience and want to deepen their understanding of advanced techniques, reading the water, fly selection, fishing strategies & fly casting.

Join us for an immersive fly fishing class designed to give you a strong head start on the water. Whether you're a complete beginner or looking to sharpen your skills, this course covers all the essential aspects to ensure your success.

In this class, we'll guide you through:

  • Essential Equipment: Learn about rods, reels, lines, and everything you need to get started.

  • Fly Patterns: Understand the different flies and when to use them.

  • Knots & Rigging: Master the essential knots and rig setups for different situations.

  • Wading Gear & Techniques: Stay safe and comfortable while wading, and learn the best techniques for fishing.

  • Entomology: Gain insight into the insects that fish feed on, and how to match the hatch.

  • Reading the Water: Understand how to identify fish-holding spots and interpret water conditions.

  • Casting Demo & Instruction: Get hands-on casting experience and tips to improve your accuracy and distance.

FLY FISHING 201

Step Out of the Classroom and Into the Water with Our Fly Fishing 201 Course!

Join Frank DeGrazio, NYS licensed guide, for our Fly Fishing 201 course at the scenic White Pond Multiple Use Area in Stormville, NY. This course is designed to help you build on the fundamentals covered in our Fly Fishing 101 course, and give you the confidence to head out on your own.

In the Fly Fishing 201 course, we’ll focus on:

  • Rigging & Setting Up Your Rod: Learn how to properly rig your rod for different fishing scenarios.

  • Knots, Leader & Tippet: Master the essential knots and how to use leader and tippet effectively.

  • Fly Selection: Understand how to choose the right fly for various conditions.

  • Fly Casting Techniques: Improve your casting accuracy and distance with hands-on instruction.

  • Fly Fishing Strategies & Safety: Learn the best approaches for various water types and stay safe while on the water.

The class will include practical, hands-on casting instruction, as well as the opportunity to cast flies and even fish in real conditions. By the end of the course, you’ll feel empowered and prepared—no more intimidation when stepping into the water with your fly rod!

We accept refunds and exchanges.

Return Policy:

Our policy lasts 30 days. If 30 days have gone by since your purchase, unfortunately we can’t offer you a refund or exchange. 

To be eligible for a return, your item must be unused and in the same condition that you received it. It must also be in the original packaging. 

Several types of goods are exempt from being returned. Perishable goods such as food, flowers, newspapers or magazines cannot be returned. We also do not accept products that are intimate or sanitary goods, hazardous materials, or flammable liquids or gases.

English Angling Trappings items such as real furs and feathers cannot be returned.

Gift cards

To complete your return, we normally require a receipt or proof of purchase. Otherwise, there is no way for us to tell that you bought it from us. 

There are certain situations where only partial refunds are granted: (if applicable)

Obvious signs of use, for example. Item had been previously opened.
Any item not in its original condition, is damaged or missing parts for reasons not due to our error.
Any item that is returned more than 30 days after delivery, cannot be returned.

Refunds (if applicable)

Once your return is received and inspected, we will send you an email to notify you that we have received your returned item. We will also notify you of the approval or rejection of your refund.

If you are approved, then your refund will be processed, and a credit will automatically be applied to your credit card or original method of payment, within a certain amount of days. 

Late or missing refunds (if applicable)

If you haven’t received a refund yet, first check your bank account again. 

Then contact your credit card company, it may take some time before your refund is officially posted.

Next contact your bank. There is often some processing time before a refund is posted.

Sale items (if applicable)

Only regular priced items may be refunded, unfortunately sale items cannot be refunded.

Exchanges (if applicable)

We only replace items if they are defective or damaged.  If you need to exchange it for the same item, send us an email at thomas@anglersden.net and send your item to: 11 West Main St, Pawling, New York, US, 12564.

Gifts

If the item was marked as a gift when purchased and shipped directly to you, you’ll receive a gift credit for the value of your return. Once the returned item is received, a gift certificate will be mailed to you.

If the item wasn’t marked as a gift when purchased, or the gift giver had the order shipped to themselves to give to you later, we will send a refund to the gift giver and he will found out about your return.

You will be responsible for paying for your own shipping costs for returning your item. Shipping costs are non-refundable. If you receive a refund, the cost of return shipping will be deducted from your refund. 

Depending on where you live, the time it may take for your exchanged product to reach you, may vary.

If you are shipping an item over $75, you should consider using a trackable shipping service or purchasing shipping insurance. We don’t guarantee that we will receive your returned item.
